Video Games are Art.

If you don’t know I am definitely for video games as an art form. Well now that you know that there is a huge problem coming up on November 2nd where the US Supreme Court is taking a case where it would alienate Video Games from the First Amendment Right we have in this country, allowing states to have regulations on video games. This is due to violent video games getting into the hands of children. Now understand that the video game industry has been doing everything in its power to let parents know what they are buying for their children and have been doing a very good job of it. In fact it has the best track record then any other medium, that goes for books, music, and movies. Many retailers will not sell rated M games to children if a parent or adult is with them. So why is the government having to step in?

Thats just it, they don’t. Don’t let the government take over the job of the parent. To have this regulation would be detrimental to the video game industry. Creating confusion on regulations many games could potentially never see the light of day, or be banned from the states in question.

If you’d like to see Video Games have all the freedoms that other mediums have then go to http://www.videogamevoters.org and sign up. They need the numbers to let the supreme court know that people do care about what will happen to their entertainment freedoms. Also if you have a broken controller you don’t use any more go to http://videogamevoters.org/page/s/controller-campaign and send them to Senator Leland Yee.

Lets all contribute to preserving our freedom to play!
